Field and studio camera work, editing, producing and creating are some of the possibilities. Specific duties depend on the station and their needs.
Other possibilities involve letter and newsletter writing, feature and special event writing, brochure and poster design, and campaign development.
You can also work as a Public Relations (PR).
Skills you could acquire
- Turning client information into press releases and distributing them to journalists, gain experience and understanding of preparation activities for a film festival.
- Gain knowledge about politics and media.
- Journalism skills like news judgement, reporting and writing.
- Strategically, methodological and analytical skills in economic and development issues.
- Knowledge of the way in which a office operates, research skills.
What past interns have done
- Assist in collection and dissemination of published articles to clients and colleagues, assist in overall administration of public relation activities.
- Conduct literature review, participate in development of proposals and experimental scenarios, working on conference papers and journal papers.
- Collect and code data for major television networks.
- Develop news stories.
- Work at front desk, conduct research and in-depth legislative projects, handle and answer mail, maintain database.
- Review report drafts and prepare commentary notes, prepare commentary notes about debates on development issues, prepare research papers on development issues.
