Internships in sports
This task will offer interns an opportunity to explores issues that are relavent to high performance including communications skills, problem solving and ethical descision-making.
Interns receive leadership and supervisory experiences in all aspects of our comprehensive program including: informal recreation, sport clubs, outdoor recreation, fitness, facilities management, etc..
Skills you could acquire
- Administering psychological assessments and applying these during training and coaching programmes.
- Design and management of programmes for increasing strength, stamina, flexibility and co-ordination.
- Dietary assessment and design of diet and exercise programs.
- Recognising sports injuries and providing simple first aid to stabilise them.
- Providing advice concerning treatment and monitoring of sports injuries during rehabilitation and prevention in the future.
What past interns have done
- Monitoring and developing CTS training programs, providing athletes written and spoken feedback to questions regarding all aspects of their training, and assisting senior coaching faculty with projects of interest.
- Interns have the opportunity to experience all practical phases of running a residential health spa. The internship focuses on working with the management team, teaching fitness classes, front desk, reservations, and the kitchen and housekeeping departments. A concentration in any area is dependent upon the intern's skills and interest.
- The internship consist of marketing, promotions and administrative and on-site duties in a summer camp.
- Interaction with publicity or marketing staff of a sports company, fullfillment of media information requests, mainenance of new clip files and various databases, assiting in the management of video and photo libraries.
