Legal internship with Bufete Horcajada
I have come to LleÃda for three months in order to improve my Spanish but also to complete a legal internship with Bufete Horcajada. I have been at the firm for almost one month and so far I have completed a wide range of tasks. I have been to court on several occasions concerning both criminal and civil matters. I have carried out a substantial amount of legal research into current issues and created articles about these issues which have been posted on the firm´s website. I have also been given the opportunity to translate a number of legal documents and contracts. These are all skills which I will be able to apply in my future career.
LleÃda is a beautiful city with lots of things to do. There are many historical buildings here such as, La Seu Vella and a number of churches and cathedrals. There are also many shops and restaurants. The city is well connected by train to Barcelona and other major cities and towns such as Tarragona, Reus and Madrid.
I attend spanish classes three times per week at the University of LleÃda. The class is small but I have made some good friends here including a girl from Brazil and another from Hungary.
The experience so far has been interesting particularly as there are many cultural differences. My spanish is improving and I have acquired and built upon skills which will be highly beneficial for my future.
